BENITO LOPEZ OFF FIGHT CARD
After having agreed to meet Tony Boyles on the IFC Caged Combat event, Benito Lopez has backed out of his scheduled match with Tony Boyles which was to take place at Cache Creek Casino.
According to event matchmaker Chris Villegas, Benito accepted the fight on June 22nd then claimed he had a conflict four weeks later. "Benito actually fought on a IFC card on July 12, and we reconfirmed everything then in person" says Villegas. "We sent him a copy of the poster and received a text back from Benito on July 21st saying he couldn't do the fight. After a month on the card, he is now off. This is a huge disappointment because we felt that we had a great relationship with Benito."
No supporting documentation has been received from Benito or any other organization that he may have had an agreement with. There is no doubt that Benito is a real up and comer in the MMA world but how do you trust that Benito is actually going to fight when he says he is? We would hope that Benito would give us an answer.
